Feelings and tips
Below you will find a brief description of the sports I practice. Some feeling around them and some tips that might help you.

Mountain Bike

There is nothing like a technical climb, a wonderful view, a little rest and a thrilling downhill, testing your limits and facing your fears. An action movie runs through your eyes and nothing can describe the feeling. After a good ride, your spirit remains in heaven while you get some rest.

After riding for many years in the wonderful mountains of Colombia, I have tried trails in Spain and now near Boston and New York. Each place has its own magic.

I ride a Trek Remedy 8 2010, an upgrade of my beloved Trek Y3. Unlike in other sports where the tool is not as important as the skills, a good bike vs one that is not so good, makes a huge difference to enjoy the ride. A good bike means: front suspension and rear suspension of at least 130mm, hydraulic disc brakes and weight less than 28 pounds. You can develop technical skills faster than you can imagine, just by following the basic principles and a little bit of practice.

Squash

Squash is all about fitness and mind control over your opponent. Just a few lessons with a good trainer will help you develop a smooth swing. With practice, your fitness allows you to think faster than your opponent and constantly adjust your strategy. Drills and conditional games are key if you want to improve your level.

There are always nice people in the court willing to make you sweat.

Check the professional Squash Association webpage: PSA and this magazine. Also, check squash videos in YouTube and here

Ski

Bad wheather? It can be wonderful news! I haven't skied much but I love it! You can fly going downhill in an incredibly steep terrain.

Nothing like the Back Bowls and the Blue Sky Basin at Vail (CO), A nice diner, sharing the stories of the day, completes the experience. I try to go there every year.

Water Ski

This was my first passion, floating in the water! It’s still the most intense sport I have ever practiced. With an average speed of 60 mph while skiing the slalom course, if you hit the water, you simply bounce until the speed is reduced enough to go into the water again. The acceleration getting out of a buoy is just amazing. 15 minutes of skiing are like 60 of any other sport. Check out this magazine

Golf

The most challenging sport.
You constantly have to improve the control over your mind.

Jogging

If golf is the most challenging sport, jogging is the least. That's why, if you have the will, you can remove from your mind the constant flow of concerns. Just hit the road and run with your favorite music. Your level will increase fast, however if you are thinking about competitive running, that's another story.
Start slowly to gain strenght in your articulations.
There is nothing like jogging to lose weight and get your body in good shape.

Diving

Not exactly a sport, just a discovery of a different world where you are a guest.

The surrounding creatures remind you that you have to be part of a system in order to survive. I have dived in Gorgona, Riviera Maya, Islas del Rosario, Providencia and Jamaica

Sailing

A long term dream

I took a Cruising course a few years ago and my goal is to sail around the world. The opportunity will come...
